Day 11 without nicotine

Alcohol makes cravings harder to resist. Plan around it this month.

What's happening

Drinking is one of the most common triggers. The NHS says alcohol weakens self-control and makes cravings harder to resist, and suggests choosing non-alcoholic drinks during the first month.

Smokefree.gov lists drinking alcohol or going to a bar as a social trigger for vaping. Many people who smoked or used pouches also used more nicotine when drinking.

This does not mean you can never go out. It means planning ahead while the habit is still new.

What helps today

  • For now, choose non-alcoholic drinks, or set a firm limit before you go.
  • Avoid places where people will be vaping or smoking around you, if you can.
  • Go with a friend who knows you have quit.
  • Plan your exit time before you arrive.
