Day 20 without nicotine

Count what you have saved. It is a reason you can see.

What's happening

Smokefree.gov suggests working out the money you save as a way to stay motivated through cravings. The NHS's own quit app also shows how much you are saving.

Add up what you used to spend each week on vapes, pods, e-liquid, pouch tins or cigarettes. Multiply that by the weeks you have been free. Then look at the yearly figure.

Money is not everyone's main reason, but it is something real you can watch grow.

What helps today

  • Work out your weekly spend and multiply by 3 weeks.
  • Put that money aside in a separate account or jar.
  • Pick a goal to spend it on, like a trip, gear or a treat.
  • Look at the number when an urge hits.
