Day 26 without nicotine

New routines are replacing the old ones. Keep building them.

What's happening

By now you have probably changed several small things about your day. These new routines matter. The NHS suggests changing daily habits linked to nicotine, like swapping your usual drink.

Regular activity is one routine with extra benefits. Smokefree.gov says exercise reduces urges, helps with stress and mood, and can help limit weight gain after quitting.

The more often you do the new thing instead of the old one, the more normal it feels.

What helps today

  • Choose one new routine to keep long term, like a morning walk.
  • Aim for about 30 minutes of activity most days, even in 10-minute blocks.
  • Replace your old nicotine breaks with a different kind of break.
  • Notice which new habits you enjoy, and keep those.
